    Where the settings are

    Open any chat and click the provider button at the top (it reads using janitor until you switch). Under Provider, pick Proxy, then click + New under Proxy configurations.

    The Proxy URL ends in /chat/completions. The key comes from the console. Model takes any chat model id from the Models page.

    Click Add, then Save at the bottom of the panel, and refresh the page. Janitor only picks up a new proxy URL after a refresh. The chat header then reads using proxy.

    A new Janitor account asks for a persona name before the first message goes out.

    What is the proxy URL for Janitor AI?
    https://api.uplinkswitch.com/v1/chat/completions. Janitor wants the full chat completions address, not just the base URL.
    Can I use DeepSeek as a Janitor AI proxy?
    Yes. Set Model to deepseek-v4-flash ($0.0279 in, $0.0558 out per million tokens), or deepseek-v4-pro-uncensored for the uncensored build.
    Why does Janitor show proxy error 401?
    The API key is missing, mistyped or revoked. Copy it again from the console, paste it into the configuration and save.
    Why does Janitor show proxy error 429?
    Too many requests in a short time for the key, or the model is busy. Wait a few seconds and send again.
    What does proxy error 402 mean?
    The prepaid balance ran out. Replies work again after a top-up.
